Objectives of the Holy Qur’an and Its Contemplation in Addressing Contemporary Social Issues: Practical Applications and Models from Islamic Heritage and the Modern Context

Abstract

ينطلق هذا البحث من الإيمان بأن القرآن الكريم كتاب هداية ربانية صالح لكل زمان ومكان، وأن تدبره وفق مقاصده الكبرى يمثل منهجًا إصلاحيًا متجددًا قادرًا على مواجهة الإشكاليات الاجتماعية المعاصرة، وتأصيل الحلول لها من مرجعية الوحي. تكمن إشكالية البحث في القصور المنهجي في تفعيل مقاصد القرآن الكريم وآليات التدبر في فهم ومعالجة القضايا الاجتماعية الراهنة. وقد أدى هذا القصور إلى وجود فجوة معرفية وتطبيقية بين النص المؤسس ومتطلبات الواقع المتغير، مما يستدعي بناء نموذج تكاملي يسد هذه الفجوة. يهدف البحث إلى إبراز دور مقاصد القرآن في صياغة رؤية اجتماعية متكاملة، توضيح أهمية التدبر في ربط الخطاب القرآني بواقع الإنسان المعاصر. تقديم نماذج تطبيقية لمعالجة قضايا حيوية مثل: الطلاق المعاصر، التربية الرقمية للأبناء، والعدالة الاقتصادية. وقد اعتمد الباحث على المنهج الاستقرائي التحليلي؛ من خلال جمع النصوص القرآنية والحديثية المتعلقة بالقضايا الاجتماعية، وتحليلها في ضوء المقاصد الكلية، إضافة إلى المنهج المقارن مع النظريات الاجتماعية والنفسية المعاصرة. ومن نتائج البحث أن القرآن الكريم يضع أسساً معرفية متكاملة للعدل الاجتماعي، والكرامة الإنسانية، وتحقيق مقاصد العمران، وأن التدبر لا يقتصر على كونه ممارسة روحية، بل هو وسيلة معرفية وتربوية لتحويل فهم النصوص إلى فعل اجتماعي إيجابي، وأن الجمع بين المقاصد والتدبر يكوّن رؤية متوازنة توفر حلولاً عميقة لقضايا الأسرة اجتماعيًا وثقافيًا.يُسهم هذا البحث في بناء نموذجًا معرفيًا متكاملًا يجمع بين الدراسات القرآنية والعلوم الاجتماعية، مما يقدّم نموذجاً تطبيقياً أصيلاً لفهم الواقع وتحليل إشكالياته انطلاقاً من المرجعية الشرعية. ويختتم الملخص بعدة توصيات؛ تعزيز تدريس مقاصد القرآن والتدبر في المناهج الجامعية، وإدماج الرؤية القرآنية في الخطط الاجتماعية والتنموية للمؤسسات والدول، وتشجيع البحوث التطبيقية التي تربط بين القرآن الكريم والعلوم الإنسانية.

This study proceeds from the conviction that the Qur’an is a divine book of guidance, eternally relevant to every time and place, and that reflecting upon it in light of its higher objectives represents a dynamic reformative methodology capable of addressing contemporary social challenges and grounding their solutions in divine revelation.The research problem lies in the methodological deficiency in activating the purposes of the Qur’an (maqāṣid al-Qurʾān) and the mechanisms of reflection (tadabbur) in understanding and dealing with present-day social issues. This deficiency has produced an epistemic and practical gap between the founding text and the evolving realities of human life—necessitating the construction of an integrative model to bridge that gap.The study aims to highlight the role of Qur’anic objectives in shaping a comprehensive social vision, to clarify the importance of tadabbur in linking the Qur’anic discourse to the experience of the modern individual, and to present applied models for addressing vital issues such as contemporary divorce, digital upbringing of children, and economic justice. Methodologically, the researcher employs an inductive-analytical approach—collecting Qur’anic and Prophetic texts related to social matters and analyzing them in light of the higher objectives of the Sharīʿah—together with a comparative approach that engages modern social and psychological theories.The findings reveal that the Qur’an establishes an integrated epistemological foundation for social justice, human dignity, and the realization of civilizational purpose (ʿimrān). Reflection upon the Qur’an is not merely a spiritual exercise but an epistemic and educational process that transforms scriptural understanding into constructive social action. Integrating maqāṣid with tadabbur yields a balanced vision capable of offering profound solutions to familial, social, and cultural challenges.This research contributes to the formulation of a holistic epistemological model that unites Qur’anic studies with the social sciences, thereby providing an authentic applied framework for interpreting reality and analyzing its problems from a revelatory perspective.The study concludes with several recommendations: enhancing the teaching of maqāṣid al-Qurʾān and tadabbur in university curricula; incorporating the Qur’anic worldview into social and developmental planning of institutions and states; and encouraging applied research that connects the Qur’an with the human sciences.
